Our Rabbi – Rabbi David Cantor

Rabbi David Cantor is the newly appointed spiritual leader of Congregation Agudath Achim, Savannah’s historic Conservative synagogue known for its vibrant egalitarian community and deep commitment to Jewish learning, prayer, and service. With a pastoral heart and a therapeutic approach to leadership, Rabbi Cantor brings warmth, wisdom, and a deep sense of presence to his rabbinate.

Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Rabbi Cantor has served congregations across North America, most recently in Yardley, Pennsylvania, where he was beloved for his relational style and dedication to adult education, pastoral care, and community building. His decision to move to Savannah was inspired by the city’s rich Jewish heritage, the welcoming spirit of Agudath Achim, and the opportunity to help a dynamic congregation grow even stronger.

Rabbi Cantor is joined in this new chapter by his wife, Rebbetzin Kedma Cantor, and their four children. Together, they are excited to become part of Savannah’s Jewish landscape and contribute to its flourishing future.

At Agudath Achim, Rabbi Cantor envisions deepening the congregation’s spiritual connections while honoring its legacy of over 100 years. He believes that Judaism of the heart must also be Judaism of the mind, and he is committed to fostering meaningful dialogue, joyful learning, and compassionate leadership.

Whether leading services, teaching Torah, or simply offering a listening ear, Rabbi Cantor strives to help each congregant feel seen, heard, and uplifted. His presence marks a new chapter in Agudath Achim’s journey—one rooted in tradition, guided by empathy, and open to the possibilities of renewal.
